Lotus. Curious

For Changu Changezi I created a quilled lotus flower.  4 levels of 1/8 width purple and yellow-orange paper stripes  combined with positive thoughts and joy of life:

Théâtre des livres

My last creation Books' Theatre was an inspiration from the site with the same name hosted by Iulia Sofian, a very beautiful and passionate woman. Her love and determination for art and people is growing richer and richer year after year.

My work is a collage of quilling and cuts. Even if the masks are already known as a symbol for the theater, I made them unique in a way, using books paper. I used 1/8" and 1/16"quilling paper stripes of blue, plum, yellow, green and .... books colors.

The framed work is 8x10".

Little Words Puzzle

Eugen Doga came to Montreal. To honor him, my friend Ramona asked me to create something unique for him. Not wanting to do the eternal musical notes, nor the musical instrumentals, I played with letters:

The final product is  a 8x10"  shadow box. I used 2-colours orange-peach 1/8"paper bands.

In this photo you can see the details. Obviously, the puzzle is very simple. Arranging the words in the right order, you obtain EUGEN DOGA -GRAMOFON.

Every ocasion deserves a Magda Quilling Art's frame

Lately, I've done several 2.5x3.5" quilling framed creations. The width of the paper bands is 1/16", and I choosed  graduated pastel colors. Weddings, anniversaries, retirements - every ocasion deserves a quilling creation.

Next two events

Christmas is gone, New 2015 year started, what will be the next 2 events? St-Valentine and Spring.
The St-Valentine card is full of hearts.  As you can observe, the 3 flowers have heart-petals and the card is embelished with a Silhouette die-cut heart.

As for the spring card, the quilling flowers have only two colors, since the background is full of different roses:
